1. Introduction Welcome to Developer Journal ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our SaaS platform.

2. Information We Collect

• GitHub Authentication: We only allow authentication via GitHub.
• Personal Data: We collect email addresses and usernames for marketing purposes.
• User-Generated Content: Journal entries, projects, and GitHub repository IDs are stored on our platform. Note that we don’t store the source code of GitHub repositories.
• Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve our services.
• To send weekly notifications (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To ensure security and prevent abuse.

4. Third-Party Services We use Clerk for authentication, which may store additional data. Please refer to their privacy policy for details.

5. Optional features

We offer a feature for AI to automatically process and create a checkpoint based on your commit history. Note that for this to work smoothly we require the following data to be processed by AI:

• What files were changed
• What changes occurred

To opt out, disable the Auto Checkpoint feature in project settings. It is disabled by default.

5. Data Deletion Users can delete their account by contacting us at [email protected]. This will remove all of their data alongside.
